WCG 2009 was a roaring success at the Beyond LAN Internet Cafe in George St. There was plenty of drama, especially in Guitar Hero, with Adelaide's Joel Brookes and Bjan Mara fighting out for the single spot on the plane to Chengdu in China for the world finals. In the end, finals experiences won out with Joel just pipping Bjan at the post. It was an extremely tense final, but big game experience won out on the day.

With FIFA09 it was a case of out with the old and in with the new as perennial favourite Jake Mitchell was beaten by Dimitri Bescos who has been a runner up on more than one occasion.

With CounterStrike, it was well done to Team Sequential comprising Michael Aliferis, Soren Larssen, Otis Duncan, Rory Burke and Emir Keser. After being down 4-11, they mounted an astounding comeback never seen before in the game, and came out on top!

Thanks also to James Cowan, Dave Christie, Dorian Guardala, MC Losty and Sarah Shewan who spent a lot of time putting the event together, and a special thanks to all the competitors and people who came along to watch.
